This category features commercial construction projects built for developers, whether it be a retail shopping center owned by a developer and operated by a leasing company or an investment group or developer that owns a single building property.
Chandlee Construction has performed many more projects than are shown here for developers to improve their commercial investments such as enclosing dumpsters; upgrading sidewalks, pillars, and the facade of the center; or revitalizing the parking lot through paving or converting all the site lighting to LED or solar. Matthew McClure’s property in northeast Atlanta was a similar project albeit an emergency repair as a huge tree fell on his building during a storm moving through Atlanta while he was out of the country and the property was set to close the following week.
We also have built-out countless ‘white box’ projects. “White or vanilla box” is a commercial construction term for taking a previously rented space and returning it to bare walls and floors (while often upgrading utilities) so the developer and/or leasing agent can lease the space to a new tenant.
Two diverse and very interesting projects in this category are the Liberty Hall building and the Huff Trail destination. The Huff Trail property, located in northwest Atlanta, was a former paint factory and warehouse. The developer, Kim King Associates, wanted to revitalize the property by remodeling it and ensuring the space met all required building codes. The entire exterior of the building was restored while the inside was divided into suites that were leased to various tenants carefully chosen to offer the area exciting and needed businesses. One such tenant is The Fairmont operated by Novare Events. The design of the space created a beautiful event venue in the allotted 24,000 square feet. Other tenants in the development, also built-out by Chandlee Construction Company, are Crazy Legs Productions (featured under our Production Studios category), Peridot, HFC Interiors, Suite H and all the common hallways and public restrooms.
The Liberty Hall building is a unique property. It is a six-story building, including the cellar, located in downtown Alpharetta, Georgia. The owners have taken us back in time to an era of fine clubs filled with fine furniture that offer exquisite architectural details and the finest in service. The President’s Guild of Alpharetta is the developer and The Founder’s Club is one of the tenants. Chandlee Construction has been offered the great opportunity to complete the construction of the interior on all floors with fine details and appointments while creating an inviting exterior that makes this property a showcase for the City of Alpharetta.
