Chandlee and Sons Construction Company signed a contract with MNG Laboratories on April 15, 2016 for an upgrade of their laboratory in Atlanta, Georgia.
The scope of this project includes suppling and installing a fire retardant block glass partition wall, installing a custom 3′ x 15′ frosted stripe door, tying into existing HVAC system for additions, and suppling and installing three CFL remodel lighting fixtures.
As of March 8 the project was placed on hold awaiting the approval of the client’s changes submitted to the landlord. On March 25, our project administrator contacted Johns Creek regarding the glass permit. Their office is to confirm in writing that no permit is necessary. The crew was still waiting in mid-April for the owner to submit the deposit for the purchase of the unique glass door. On May 3, our project manager met with Matt with MNG for an introduction and go over the scope of this small project. The glass door was order and is due around the 15th or sooner. Currently accepting bids on ducting work.
The HVAC was installed on the May 13. The lab representative requested that the project manager be present while the entirety of the work is performed. Our project manager assured him that this would not be a problem and that all his needs and concerns will be addressed.
By the 16th the glass arrived in three sections – there was a discrepancy in one of the panels – it would take seven more days for the new panel to arrive. Meanwhile the HVAC work began, patching and painting were completed. The replacement glass panel was installed on the May 24. A delay in the HVAC work occurred due to the client not being happy with current installer – our project manager was able to work through the problems and the HVAC work was performed to the client’s satisfaction and completed by June 22. Drywall, painting and all were complete by June 27.
