Chandlee and Sons Construction Company is a commercial design/build and ground-up general contracting firm whose offices are in Alpharetta, Georgia (North Fulton County). Our team of designers, engineers, contractors, project managers, administrators and crew members are experience in the construction of restaurants and bars whether the construction is ground-up, build-out or remodel.
Some of our remodel projects include The VENTI ITALIAN BISTRO in Cumming, STUFFED BURGER in Athens, AMMAZZA in Decatur, and TABLE 20 in Cartersville. The BIG SKY BUCKHEAD project was a ground-up undertaking where fast track construction methods were implemented. This 2014 two-story project made a few “Top” lists.
Immediately after our crew moved to the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood along the Atlanta Beltline for the transformation of a former cotton mill into the LADYBIRD GROVE & MESS HALL – a restaurant, bar, and music venue. Reclaimed and repurpose materials were used in unique applications and a large concrete ‘porch’ was transformed into eclectic outdoor dining spaces. Ladybird made a ‘Top Fifteen’ award on Eater.com. BASIL’S RESTAURANT& TAPAS BAR suffered a terrible fire in September 2014. Owner, Joseph Kahwach, hired our professional commercial contracting firm to rebuild the burned portion of the structure from the ground up and integrate the design into the remaining portion of his family owned Atlanta restaurant. The project features iPod-controlled light displays and inviting outdoor dining.
The Chandlee team began design work in early 2015 for the build-out of Chad Eby’s CHAD THAI URBAN ASIAN KITCHEN. This project involved the reconfiguration of the kitchen from a pretzel store into a full-sized commercial kitchen and the use of multi-colored repurposed wood. At the same time Chandlee and Sons contracted for the build-out of a newly resurrected franchise, BALDINO’S GIANT JERSEY SUBS. The Certificate of Occupancy was presented to probably one of the youngest franchise owners ever on August 13.
URBAN COOKHOUSE signed with Chandlee and Sons in the same month for the design/build of their flagship store in the Sandy Springs Gateway mixed-use development. This project was our largest restaurant to date and the only stand-alone structure in Gateway. Chandlee and Sons value engineered this project to save the owner time and money. Later in the year the Chandlee crews quickly finished a SMOOTHIE KING in Canton and THE NEST in downtown Alpharetta.
In 2016 the Chandlee team built-out of the Canadian franchise GO GRILL in Suwanee, a BURGER FI franchise in Lawrenceville, SMOOTHIE KING restaurants in Stockbridge and Rome, and a VITALITY BOWLS SUPER FOOD CAFÉ franchise on Peachtree Street. Chandlee and Sons designed and built the Italian franchise PINNOCHIO’S in Sandy Springsand Chef Willie Degel’s UNCLE JACK’S MEAT HOUSE in Lawrenceville. Founding Partner, Jim Chandlee oversaw the remodel of a large porch at Alpharetta’s WILD WING CAFÉ into a rustic enclosed dining space.
The build-out of a second BURGER FI in Buford brought in the new year of 2017. Our team remodeled a PIZZAFIRE restaurant and built-out THE BRASS TAP in the Glenwood Place center - a restaurant that prides itself on its beer selection.
A fast-growing liquid nitrogen ice cream franchise out of California called CREAMISTRY was our first restaurant project for 2018. This unusual shop is located at The Mall of Georgia in Buford.
