Chandlee and Sons Construction Company signed a contract on July 2, 2018 with this client for the build-out of a surgical unit to become a part of this Ankle & Foot location.
The Chandlee crew, under the expert supervision of Project Manager Jim Beggs and assistance from Project Administrator Mary Chandlee, constructed all dividing walls and ceilings, etc. to complete the new surgical unit.
The plans; designed by Jefferson, Brown, Gresham Architects in Peachtree City; include a waiting room with an attached front office; an x-ray room; three pre-op/post-op spaces; a nurses’ station; patient restroom; staff breakroom, restroom and changing room; operating room; instrument prep room; vacuum pump room; equipment clean supply storage room along with other storage and a janitor closet. These new spaces adjoin with the existing procedure room and existing offices and exam rooms.
The installations include ceramic tile floors and walls, wall mounted counters with granite or plastic laminate tops, several doors with one set of automatic sliding doors, a variety of sinks with an instant hot water heater over the mop sink, curtain dividers and shelving units, a undercounter refrigerator, locking files cabinets with one for patients, a floor drain, a battery back-up system, a nurses call station and phone board, oxygen wall outlets, and specified surgical lighting,
The electrical contractors were charged with providing labor, materials and equipment for the electrical autoclave and vacuum scope. The crew also relocated receptacles and outlets, installed circuits and disconnect for a new transformer, added more circuit panels and a meter. Other subcontractors on this commercial interior build-out project were CMS Concrete, Countertop Expressions, D&B Glass, Dormakaba, EFL Enterprises, Hunter Heating and Air, Jax Custom Cabinets and Countertops, J. R. Nichols, Ledford Plumbing, Peach Floors, Smarthands and Terbaco.
On October 19, Chandlee Holdings’ CEO, Seth Chandlee, visited the site and made these remarks, “Ankle and Foot Centers of Georgia’s newest surgery center is in their Windy Hill location. This is a Level 1, state-of-the-art surgery center built by Chandlee and Sons Construction. This was a complex build – all certified with very specific requirements (germ-free, medical use of gas, negative air, etc). As of this date this project is almost ready for their first patient.
Project Manager, Jim Beggs, had this to say about this commercial build, “We had only nine feet and ten inches of room from the floor to the bottom of the building joists! We packed in three new HVAC units in this space. The plumbing for the medical gas was installed in two operating rooms and three post-op and prep rooms, along with valves and alarms. The electrical work was new and included a life safety battery backup system.”
This project was completed in the contracted time of eighteen weeks. The Marietta office is in Suite 105 at 2520 Windy Hill Road SE. Check them out on their website at https://www.ankleandfootcenters.com/marietta-podiatrists/.
