Courtney graduated from Marion (Illinois) High School in 1989. She attended John A. Logan College in Carterville and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois pursuing a major in sociology and a minor in child psychology. With this course of study, Courtney’s first career choice was social work, but instead, she found herself working in the hospitality field.
In 1995, Courtney moved south to Alpharetta, Georgia to begin a new chapter in her life. After several months a friend introduced her to TenCate Geosynthetics, a manufacturing company. She has also worked for commercial companies that provide low-voltage installations, heating and air conditioning, general contracting, and installations of cell towers and security systems. With twenty years of experience, Courtney had been fortunate to work with great teams that furthered her education and career.
Courtney first worked in customer service and administrative support. She gained further experience taking positions in accounts receivable and payables, and eventually moving up to positions of director of human resources and controller. Courtney is a registered Notary Public.
A friend introduced her to a recruiter for Chandlee Construction. Todd McDougald, Chief Financial Officer, offered Courtney the position of Controller with Chandlee Holdings – she is responsible for all the Chandlee companies. The team has welcomed Courtney from day one – the ladies in the office tease her for the huge shoe collection. “One can never have too many shoes,” she says. Courtney is a great asset to our companies and her contribution is greatly appreciated by everyone.
On a personal note, her commute to the office, which is in the most northern part of Fulton County, is fifteen minutes – which is phenomenal for the expansive Atlanta metro area. Courtney thoroughly enjoys North Georgia’s beautiful fall season, along with attending concerts, and binge-watching NetFlix. Her current family is two spoiled dogs; a miniature poodle and a malti-poo.
