Chandlee Construction Company is a commercial design/build firm that services the expansive North Georgia and the Atlanta Metro areas. We specialize in ground-up, shell and core, grading and utility construction, the construction of industrial and warehouse structures and site and civil development. We are also designers and builders of steel buildings and tilt up or tilt wall constructed structures.
Our team of experienced project managers and supervisors can build a simple standard shell of steel or take the project through to a finished building for use as a school, church, manufacturing facility, warehouse, fulfillment center, barn, or a commercial shop for any type of business. We can construct an I-beam, C-channel or tube steel building of any size. Steel structures benefit uses like barns, farm and ranch structures for agriculture; hangars for aircraft; as mechanic or auto garage, and more.
Steel buildings have advantages over other buildings like steel Quonset huts, modular buildings, portable structures, or stick built and pole structures. A variety of doors can be added to steel structures include sectional doors, walk doors, roll up doors (which take up less overhead space), bi-fold doors or storefront doors. Features that can be added to allow light or shade openings include skylights, overhangs, windows, light transmitting panels and even wall lights to increase light entering the building is tremendous ways. Steel structured buildings can feature mezzanines and multiple floors and can have almost unlimited wall, roof and trim colors.
We also utilize tilt up, tilt-slab or tilt wall construction which is often used in the building of warehouses, distribution and manufacturing facilities, as well as office and retail construction. A main advantage of this type of construction is that it saves money because it saves time. It is a chosen method of construction throughout the United States and it is excellent method for retrofitting older structures in earthquake prone areas. Concrete elements such as walls, structural supports, columns, etc., are preformed and cured. These components are raised or tilted vertically using a crane and positioned with braces until all components including roofs, floors and walls are in place. These same elements can also be built off site.
Projects of under this category designed and/or built or upgraded by Chandlee Construction include the Enterprise Vehicle Processing facility in the expansive space of the former North Atlanta Trade Center. Another project was for the MillerZell retail design and marketing firm. They construct actual full-size structures of the designs they create for their clients in their expansive showroom. Our crew demolishing a completed Trust Company Bank building from inside their showroom and removed it piece by piece during (and after) business hours without disturbing their employees or clients.
SIP Industries hired our firm to remodel their warehouse and upgrade the interior electrical lighting, demolish some exterior structures, install new large overhead doors, and update the finish the exterior of the building and property fencing. U.S. South Plumbing contracted with our firm to expand their existing warehouse another 4,000 square feet and build an office larger than the expansion on the second story inside the expanded warehouse. We also undertook a project for The Ranger Dalton Plant Construction Company at the pipeline facility of Williams Transco in Carroll County, Georgia. At present our firm is working on a project of this nature for The RV Loft.
The use of either of these types of construction methods is almost endless.
