Janet K. Baird

Shortly after joining Chandlee Construction in November 2015 Janet made this observation: “Chandlee Construction is a great group of people to work with”. She holds the position of Field Support Specialist for our company. Janet has previous experience as a secretary and administrative assistant with a mid-sized general practice law firm.

She stood out in her interview because of her entrepreneurial experience as the founder and manager of a small import business that imported gift items from Russia and sold them to stores and online businesses in the states. And the fact that Janet dedicates a percent of her profits from the business to support orphanages in Russia.

Janet has written children’s historical fiction books for middle school age children which are for sale online. They are also listed at the Library of Congress. As time allows, she plans to write and publish more stories.

Janet and her husband, Tom Cahill, have five grown children between them, ages 28, 27, 26, 19 and 18 – the two youngest children are adopted from Russia. Tom works for LE Electric, a subcontracting firm that works works

with Chandlee Construction. Meredith, the eldest, has a degree in International Business from KSU and works in sales. Dawn Marie Gunn is Tom’s 27 year old. She and her husband, Colin, live in Arlington, Texas where Dawn is a pet groomer and Colin is a commercial pilot. The 26 year old Austin is a breaking news reporter for KTUU TV in Ankorage, Alaska with a Journalism degree from the University of Tennessee. He was also an intern for Saxby Chambliss and Newt Gingrich. The younger daughter, Faith, age 19, is completing her last class at Hillgrove High School while she works part time. And the youngest is 18 year old, Nicholas, who currently works as an apprentice electrician with LE Electric. Janet and Tom live in Cobb County as do Meredith, Faith, Nicholas.

Janet provides organizational and operational support for the Chandlee team members. In the design and construction business there is a lot of documentation and paperwork. Janet has taken on this burden in order to free up the team to do what they do best – which is design and build amazing businesses for the clients of Chandlee Construction throughout the metro area.
