Chandlee and Sons Construction Company signed a contract with Tim Teague, Operations Manager at Enterprise Rent-A-Carin Roswellin May 2018 for the complete renovation of an existing building.
Kenneth Rybnikar, Senior Project Manager, is responsible for this commercial remodel project. Leigh Burley, Project Administrator, will assist Ken in communicating the progress of the project with the office and handling required paperwork.
The basic scope of this commercial remodel project involved taking an existing vehicle rental location and transforming it into a new Enterprise Rent-A-Car facility. The first order of business was to demolish existing partitions, chair railings, and wainscot, along with windows and doors that are to be replaced. The ceiling grid was retained where possible and new panels are being installed.
The remodel involved constructing an entry vestibule within the space with glass doors; supplying three exterior doors – one being glass, Low-E windows, and solid wood interior doors. Portions of the men’s and women’s restrooms were removed to reduce the size. The resized restrooms have new surface finishes; area appropriate ceiling panels; fixtures; along with customer service counters with bases, sinks and instant hot water heaters. The new components were connected to existing plumbing.
Chandlee Electric provided new LED lighting, motion detectors and outlets throughout the offices and connected outlets and lights to electrical panels. The HVAC system was replaced as well as supply and return duct work. The existing siding was removed and replaced with brick veneer and new roofing material was installed that matched the existing materials.
In late June the drawings were being revised to bring the car wash inside the building. During this time our crews continued demolition. After this was complete the crew began the framing, and roughed-in the plumbing and electrical. They moved steady but not at full speed as we waited to see if the city would make any changes.
By August 24 the project was almost completed. The project manager is waiting on the client to decide if he wants additional exterior lot lighting and where exactly to place the outside electric meter. Once the decisions are made the final inspections will take place and the Certificate of Occupancy will be given to the owner.
