Chandlee and Sons Construction Company signed a contract on September 12, 2018 with Enterprise Leasing Corporation of Georgia whose offices are in Suite 1000 at 1850 Parkway Place in Marietta, Georgia.
The scope of our responsibility is to develop the site per the civil, architectural and engineering documents, build the structure from the ground-up, and obtain all permitting including that for the signage and install such signage. This commercial construction project is under the expert supervision of Ken Rybnikar, Senior Project Manager.
On September 25, Seth Chandlee, Chief Executive Officer of Chandlee Holdings and Founding Partner of Chandlee and Sons Construction Company commented, “This is the Thornton Road Enterprise project. Demolition of an empty house began today to make way for a new ground-up constructed Enterprise vehicle rental facility.” This project will begin as soon as permits are processed.
The scope of this project involves site work and ground-up construction. The demo was complete by October 2. As of this date we were waiting on bonds from the client that will enable us to pick up the permit. By October 29 we received the building permit. The concrete pipes are scheduled for delivery tomorrow. The site work will not begin for another three weeks.
Ken noted the following on November 26:
A week later the plumbers and roofers were still working, while the site crew continued digging the underground pond. Ken remarked, “I hope to have a wall cover inspection performed by the end of the week. We plan to begin putting the pipe together, and with good weather hopefully get it covered.
As the crews progressed into the month of December, the underground detention system was completed and also the roof. Our schedule for outside work has been greatly delayed by the weather – lots of rain. Site work will have to wait for the land to dry out. Regarding the building, our plan is to stucco the exterior and install the storefront windows.
The Chandlee crew graded for the car wash pad during the first week of January 2019. Further work on the pad is on hold pending a footprint change. The crew will begin digging the pond this week and remove the extra dirt. Work on the building continued with touch ups to the stucco being done last weekend. The installation of the insulation and wall over was underway. Windows and the storefront doors arrive on Tuesday the 15th – they will be immediately installed upon arrival. Plans are to be dried in by the next day so the interior finish work can begin.
By month’s end the main water lines and sewer lines were connected to the building and the new fire hydrant was installed. The curb and bio-pond were steamed out. Our crew will be final grading this week weather permitting. The electrical crew and the HVAC crew continued working inside the building. The grid for the ceiling is up and the drywall is finished and sanded. On Monday the car wash slab passed inspection and the concrete pad was poured. As soon as the concrete blocks are delivered the crew will begin raising the walls for the carwash.
Painting was still progressing the first week in March and the crew was installing doors. The oil water separators had arrived, and the carpet is scheduled for installation next week. The building for the carwash is up and the roof arrives on Monday.
