Chandlee and Sons Construction Company signed another contract with ENTERPRISE, this time for the design/build of a truck rental office and carwash in Lawrenceville, Georgia. This commercial project, under the expert supervision of Senior Project Manager, Carey Hughes, is the second of several projects with Enterprise.
The exterior of the business involved a large site plan. The entire lot is being redone including adding a detention pond and all site lighting. A manager’s office, employee break room and lobby will be framed and hung with sheetrock. The Chandlee crews will repair and replace insulation in the warehouse; install carpet squares in the office and break room (732 sf), and vinyl tile in the restrooms and storage room (270 sf); and place ceramic tile on the walls of the restrooms. Cabinetry will be hung in the break room, a variety of doors will be installed including trim and hardware, and all required surfaces will be painted. The crew will service the HVAC system, all necessary electrical and plumbing components will be installed including what is required for the carwash, and all materials necessary to meet code will be incorporated.
A walk-through was performed to take photos of certain elements before work on the project began on March 31, 2016. The electrical contractor installed LED lighting in the high bays on Tuesday, April 5. By May 3 the framing and plumbing were 80% complete, interior electrical was 25-30% complete with the walls mostly roughed. Once the subcontractors are finished the walls will be closed up. Senior Project Manager made the cuts for the floor outlets and the carwash had received it Rhino liner wains coat.
Cuts 10 to 12 inches deep were made into the concrete in the truck wash bay and the holding tank area on the 17 and the ceiling insulation will be repaired. The missing gutter and downspouts have been replaced, the interior door frames are constructed and the vinyl tile is in place in the restrooms.
By May 24 the interior was primed and the ceilings were painted. We are waiting on the doors and frames to arrive on site. At this point the floors will remain open until the data lines that will run under underneath are approved. The master electrician installed two sleeves today and the cloud ceiling will be installed by week’s end. The cut pieces from the concrete in the truck wash area are waiting in the parking lot to be removed from the site. An oil/water separator will be installed where the cuts were made.
The electrical subcontractor’s manager noted on June 17 that the trenches had been cut all around the perimeter of the parking lot for the site lighting. The following Tuesday, June 21, the paving of the parking lot began. Our crew immediately installed the lighting fixtures as soon as they arrived. Fencing and striping of the lot took place at weeks’ end with the landscaping being the very last undertaking. The final inspection was June 29 when the project received the temporary Certificate of Occupancy.
