Ground-Up

Chandlee and Sons Construction Company was formed between a father and a son, Jim Chandlee and Seth Chandlee, in 2005. Jim brought into the company many years of experience in constructing gas stations, convenience stores, apartments, houses, condominiums and more. Seth gained his expertise through working with his father beginning with the ground-up construction of the Bethany Bend Village Office Park in north Alpharetta. A variety of commercial projects followed including the construction and build-out of offices, retails spaces, and a renovation ground-up project, Yem Tires, in Fayetteville, Georgia.

In 2013 Chandlee & Sons was offered the opportunity to construct the Big Sky Bar and Restaurant from the ground-up in Buckhead, a high-end dining and shopping hub in north Atlanta. This restaurant made headlines on eater.com lists and was named one of the top twelve bars across the nation that opens to the outdoors. The design utilizes trendsetting glass garage doors to open the north and south facing walls during warmer months. Seth applied fast track construction methods during specific stages of the construction to expedite the schedule. Seth gained this experience through his time working for the Scripps network, A&E and Spike TV.

In recent years Chandlee & Sons developed a grand working relationship with Enterprise, a firm that leases trucks and cars with branches in nearly every city. This commercial contracting firm began with the build-out of several branches with Seth soon developing a prototype design. In 2016 Chandlee & Sons began two ground-up prototype projects for Enterprise with the first located on Riverside Parkway in Gwinnett County and the second in Kennesaw (Cobb County).

During this time Chandlee & Sons’ co-founder, Jim Chandlee, undertook the commercial construction project for North Fulton Metals and Recyclables. This project involved renovating existing spaces and building from the ground-up portions of the business that were destroyed in a fire.
