Chandlee Construction Company was hired for two commercial construction projects at the Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Services campus in DeKalb County. Gupton-Jones has been in business almost one hundred years. They offer one of the shortest course curriculums available under dedicated professors for every specialization of mortuary science.
Chandlee Construction Company signed a contract with Antonio C. Wallace, owner of Gupton-Jones Funeral Service, for the remodel of their preparation room at the school. Work began on January 21, 2019 under the expert supervision of Project Manager Michael McCall.
This three-week project began with some demolition and repairs to sheetrock walls. Stainless steel cabinets and countertops were installed along with medical-use seamless vinyl flooring. Some electrical upgrades were added along with plumbing components to suit the purpose of the preparation room. The final work performed on this room was to paint and clean.
Chandlee Construction Company signed a second contract with Antonio C. Wallace for the creation of a Chapel from a training room at the school. Project Manager Michael McCall managed this additional commercial project beginning on February 18, 2019.
The scope of this three-week project required two days of demolition. Our crew constructed sixteen partition walls, installed carpet and cove base, and made minor repairs to the existing drywall. One set of double doors were installed along with 730 square feet of acoustical tiles and eight light fixtures. Additional electrical work was performed, a Mitsubishi wall mounted HVAC unit was installed, and they finished with painting and a thorough cleaning.
