A large oak tree fell on the roof Matthew McClure’s building at 76 East Lake Drive in northeast Atlanta on July 20, 2018 while he was in Paris. The tree trunk and some branches penetrated the roof in several places causing damage to the roof and decking, electrical wiring, heat pump, air handler, ducting, and interior ceilings. Michael McCall was our Project Manager for this commercial repair project.
On July 29, Matt McClure, the property’s owner, made these remarks, “Hi Mike, it’s Matt McClure. I am back from Paris and I wanted to call to personally thank you for handling everything with my wife and the new buyer. They were both extremely impressed and could not say enough good things about you. I really appreciate that. I am ready to move forward with using Seth Chandlee and Chandlee Construction Company. Let me know the next step forward. The insurance adjuster is coming to the property tomorrow at 8:30am., if you are available, it would be awesome if you could be there.”
The scope of this construction project was to rebuild the roof identical to the existing roof. This involved replacing roof decking, felt, shingles, some rafters, and insulation. Wiring was also replaced by Chandlee Electric. A new heat pump, air handler and ducting were provided, and new sheetrock was hung inside the house and appropriate surfaces were painted. The permit for the work was issued on August 8.
“The oak fell on the roof of my commercial building that was set to sell in a week before my move to California. I needed an Atlanta contractor fast. Luckily, I found Chandlee Construction who sent project manager, Mike McCall, out to access the damage. Within 8 hours the roof was completely covered preventing further damage. All work including permit set, plans, permit and construction finished within six weeks. The new buyer was happy, and I made to the west coast. Everyone was blown away with how fast your company completed this job. Except me, I knew you would be amazing from the beginning. I will be in your next commercial,” remarked Matt.
