Chandlee and Sons Construction Company was hired by a local Alpharetta, Georgia homeowner to expand her early 1950s ranch home. Jim Chandlee and Seth Chandlee worked closely with the client and the architect to fulfill the plans that would open up the small 1,000 square foot home into a wonderfully livable 4,000 square feet.
The scope of the project was the complete renovation of the existing home while building over it with a large scale new wing. This large addition included a master bedroom suite with a luxurious in-suite bathroom and a great room with fourteen feet high vaulted ceilings and a surround sound system. Included in the design was a screened porch, a garage addition with a rooftop sundeck and the relocation of the laundry room to the main floor.
To accommodate the expanded utilities and the new addition, the property was graded and then landscaped accordingly. Retaining walls were constructed as required in the new design. A lake irrigation system was installed within the small lake on the property to water the land. And at the client’s request repairs were made to the owner’s swimming pool.
Ms Wood responded to her new home with these words: Chandlee & Sons did a marvelous job modernizing my old 1952 brick bungalow. You can hardly tell where the old house is; it was completely wrapped in a new expansion, new roof elevation and dramatic elevated ceilings, and even some of the original brick walls became the interior focal walls in several rooms. The design, and workmanship, and professionalism of Chandlee & Sons is outstanding. I highly recommend them to anyone.
The end result was a beautifully transformed lake front home in the countryside of North Fulton County, Georgia and years of enjoyment ahead for the homeowner.
