Atlanta’s Basil’s Restaurant Will Rise from the Flames Thanks to Chandlee & Sons

After the Basil’s Restaurant and Tapas Bar was damaged in a fire in mid-November 2014, Chandlee Construction was given the contract on the 24th for the design/build of the restaurant. Partner, Seth Chandlee, placed the company banner at the site on December 3 while the project was in the permitting stage for the architectural design and demolition. On the 19th demolition began with the crew tearing down the kitchen and removing the entire roof.

The kitchen will be reconstructed from the ground up and the remaining space that was salvaged from the fire will be remodeled to match the new design. The architectural team submitted two completely different designs by early January 2015. Seth posted the designs on his personal Facebook page seeking everyone’s opinion on which design was preferred. The design chosen by the majority was exactly what the owners chose. At this time, Basil’s is awaiting permitting on the construction of the property. The restaurant is located at 2985 Grandview Ave in northeast Atlanta.
