Creamistry Ice Cream – Buford, Georgia
Chandlee and Sons Construction Company contracted with Nivish LLC on February 19, 2018 for the build-out of a retail store in the Mall of Georgia development on Buford Drive (Georgia Highway 20). Mall of Georgia is a 41-acre, super-regional shopping mall in Gwinnett County. It is one of two-hundred-nine properties developed nation-wide by Simon Property Group, LP, whose headquarters are at 225 West Washington Street in Indianapolis, Indiana – their website is www.simon.com.
Custom Design and Development Corporation in Norcross is the architect for this commercial construction project, Creamistry – a fast growing liquid nitrogen ice cream franchise developed in California and now spreading across the United States. This Buford location is one of two located in Georgia, a second location is in Savannah.
Carey Hughes, a Senior Project Manager for Chandlee and Sons, is responsible for the construction of this restaurant project. The scope involved demolishing existing walls, flooring, ceilings and mechanicals. The crew sawed into the existing concrete to create a plumbing trench. We supplied and installed metal framing, insulation, sheetrock, acoustical ceiling tiles with grids, floor tile, wall tile and backsplash tile, quartz countertops, epoxy floor system and cove base, sneeze guards, a 5-ton HVAC unit and ducting, electrical lighting and wiring, and lavatories and toilets. Some items such as doors are being repurposed. Wall surfaces will be painted according the Creamistry specifications. This retail project requires specific window treatments and fees per Mall of Georgia.
Creamistry is in Suite VB02 at 3333 Buford Drive in the Village Shops center of the Mall of Georgia. The franchise website is https://creamistry.com .
