“TABLE 20 RESTAURANT AND BAR is nearing a start date,” stated Seth Chandlee, CEO and Managing Partner at Chandlee and Sons Construction Company. “This new restaurant and bar is located in the quaint historic district of Cartersville, Georgia in a former Quizno’s shop location. It will soon be a happening little night spot which is located near an amphitheater currently under construction.
This commercial remodel project began with phase one – demolition – that was 65% complete by May 25, 2016. The vinyl tile and all of the millwork was removed along with interior walls and a green awning. The Chandlee Electric crew was on hand to remove all of the old electrical components. Demo was completed the first of June. This project is under the supervision of Jeremy Rowe, Assistant Superintendent with Chandlee and Sons.
Jeremy posted June 23 on Builder Trend that framing, some electrical work, and the removal of exterior awnings was done. Also the French drain was installed at the back door to prevent water build-up. The lot will be graded by the owner to further direct rain water away from the building.
Lindsey Kitchen, Project Administrator noted that the project is on a short hold waiting on We were on hold for a bit waiting on updated MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) plans so we could quote. A few days later the project is approved with MEP’s so the plumber has been on site the past few days. Carey Hughes, Senior Project Manager, updated the calendar for the job on Builder Trend. Carey took updated photos the following day.
The drywall materials were delivered July 7. The plumbers laid out the markings for cutting into the slab the following day. Lindsey ordered the vent hood on July 11and the concrete was cut the next day. Hanging of one side of the drywall was complete two days after, along with the HVAC rough-in. The gas lines were installed on the 15th. The plumbing slab was inspected 3 days later. IT work began the day after and the electrical rough-in began. The inspector was on site the next day for the wall cover inspection. The Rock Wool Hood wall was completed along with the plumbing rough-in on July 21. The crew completed the installation of the grease trap the following day. All of the dry wall was hung 3 days later. The finish is underway along with the FRP.
Electrical work was continuing on August 2 as Chandlee Electric Manager, Andy Cook, logged. Senior Project Manager, Carey Hughes, noted two days later that the rough in of the electrical, HVAC and IT was complete and the wall and ceiling inspections were scheduled for the following day followed by the fire and building inspections. Carey noted on August 4 inspections passed and work was underway on the ceiling tiles and gas line installations. Walls and ceilings passed inspection the next day. Three days later the vent hood was installed in the kitchen. The application of the fiberglass reinforced plastic on the plywood was underway and the acoustical ceiling tiles were being placed a day later. The preparation of the floors was underway along with hanging and finishing the drywall. By August 12 the painters were coating the ceiling in black. The crew was completing the installation of the acoustical ceiling, the floors were prepped and ready for the client to install the finish, and the FRP application was complete. The drywall had been sanded, the hood vent was wired, the gas line was connected, and Chandlee Electric crew began working on the trim by the 15th. The punch was on the schedule for August 19 to be followed by the final inspection. Carey Hughes noted on August 29 that the project received its Certificate of Occupancy.
