Chandlee Construction Company signed a contract with VITALITY BOWLS SUPERFOOD CAFE® on July 13, 2016 for the build-out of their newest restaurant in Atlanta, Georgia.
The contract calls for existing walls, floors, electrical and more to be taken down and removed from the site. The construction will begin with framing, drywall will be hung, and repairs will be made to the soffit, some drywall and the ceiling. All new surfaces will be painted; frames, doors, cabinetry, wall and floor tiles will be installed; along with new electrical, plumbing, HVAC and sprinklers.
Demolition on this project was underway on July 22 under the supervision of Chuck Fatheree, Chandlee Construction’ Project Manager. The crews cleaned up from the demo and had cut into the concrete in order to lay electrical and plumbing materials. The Chandlee Electric crew had the electrical demo underway by August 3. By the 20th the framing layout was complete after some issues were addressed between the owner and the architect. Framing began 3 days later – the same day the debris removal contractor was scheduled to remove the concrete. The existing transformer had to be removed. On August 24 the concrete debris was gone from the site, the plumbing rough in had begun and the framing was over 85% done. The next day the plumbing was placed on hold as the owner and architect worked on the grease trap drainage issues.
Chuck noted that the crews continued to work on the rough in of the electrical work in order to be prepared for the wall cover inspection. By September 17 the project was about six weeks out from being completed and the electrical rough in work continued. Two days later the owner and the architect approved the grease trap pump although they had to wait on the below slab adapter. A full week later the hanging of the drywall was in progress and the wall cover had passed inspection.
Nearing the end of October the project passed the final electrical inspection and the crew performed the punch out. After sailing through the remaining inspections during the week of October 24, the project was CO’d and turned over to the client.
